About the Event

"Through the Looking Glass: A Fresh Perspective on Cultural Competency and Working with Survivors from Diverse Communities"

2 CE Credits will be offered for LPC, LMFT, SW, and Psychologists - NBCC Approved

Presented by: Crystal Garcia, TAASA

Date: April 26th, 2024

Time: 11:30am - 1:30pm CDT

Location: Webinar Via Zoom

Cost: Free (This training is supported by Award No. 3012706 by the Texas Office of the Governor and Violence Against Women Act Fund.)

1 in 3 Texas residents are survivors of sexual violence. However, no two survivors are the same. This presentation will help professionals learn more about working with survivors beyond a “one-size-fits-all” mindset. Together we will discuss ways to uplift survivors by recognizing their unique strengths and lived experiences.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completing this session, participants will

  • Be able to identify the pitfalls of a “One-size-fits-all” approach to survivor services.
  • Identify new approaches to providing individualized survivor services.
  • Redefine the role of cultural competency in supporting survivors.

If you register for this training, you must attend for the entire training.

*Partial CEs will not be provided.*

Leaving the training early will count as a No Show.

In the event of an emergency that causes you to be late or miss the training, email training@tssnt.org.
