The demands of the education profession can be immense, often leading to stress, burnout, and compassion fatigue. Participants will explore the importance of self-care, learn evidence-based techniques for stress management, and discover ways to foster a more positive and supportive environment within their classrooms and schools. This interactive session will empower educators to not only thrive personally but also better support the social and emotional well-being of their students.

Target Audience: Teachers, Administrators, Counselors, Support Staff, and all Educators

Learning Objectives:

  • Practical strategies for managing stress and preventing burnout.

  • Enhanced resilience and coping skills.

  • Improved ability to support student well-being.

About Our Speakers:

Leslie Boutte (she/her/ella), LPC-S, RPT-S™, TF-CBT Certified, EMDR Certified, and EMDR Consultant in Training

Leslie has been a therapist serving the Dallas community for ten years. She received her BS in Psychology from Tulane University and her MS in Counseling from the University of North Texas. Leslie began her training in counseling and play therapy at UNT, a premier training hub nationally for play therapists.

Leslie believes that each person deserves individualized care and there is no one-size-fits-all in therapy. She utilizes various treatment modalities to fit your needs and provide a safe, affirming, and inclusive space to heal (whether it be via in-person or telehealth services).

Leslie spent over eight years at the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center, a local non-profit providing services for families affected by the most severe cases of child abuse in Dallas County. Leslie also provided clinical supervision to staff and interns as well as training other therapists both locally and nationally on counseling and trauma-informed care.

Lauren Copenhaver (she/her/ella), LPC-S, RPT™, EMDR Trained, TF-CBT Certified

Lauren is a Licensed Professional Counselor who has been in practice for over seven years. Lauren’s previous clinical experience consists of serving children, adolescents and families who were victims of violent crimes at the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center, where she provided trauma-informed, evidenced-based treatment.

Lauren received her Masters of Science in Counseling and Development from Texas Woman's University in 2014. Some of her special interests include perinatal mental health, facilitating TF-CBT groups and incorporating expressive art activities into session.

Ana Guzmán (she/her/ella), MS, LPC, RPT™, EMDR Certified, TF-CBT Certified, PCIT Certified

Ana is a bilingual therapist who transitioned from a previous career to becoming a mental health provider. Ana obtained her Masters in Counseling from Southern Methodist University after realizing that helping others was more than just a career.

Ana worked for seven years at the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center, a local non-profit organization which provides services for families affected by the most severe cases of child abuse in Dallas County.

Ana has a passion for serving Latinx and Spanish-speaking families as well as addressing cultural considerations. Ana had the privilege of being awarded the Texas Association for Play Therapy (TAPT) inaugural Diversity, Inclusion, and Equity award in 2021.
