"The Nuances of Working with Trans & Non-Binary Victims of Sexual Assault"

3 CE Credits will be offered to LPC, LMFT, SW and Psychologists.

(This training meets the requirements for professional development as outlined in the Texas board rules for LPC, LMFT, SW, and Psychologists, and Trauma Care Institute is an Approved Continuing Education Provider through NBCC.)

Cost: $15 (The educational components of this training are provided at no cost by Award No. 3012704 through the Texas Office of the Governor and the Violence Against Women Act Fund. This is a non-refundable fee that covers the additional costs for this event, such as food and beverages, which are not supported by the grant.)

Join us for this exciting Lunch & Learn training where we will be joined by Leslie McMurray from Resource Center in Dallas. Leslie previously presented for Trauma Care Institute discussing "Myths and Realities of Same-Sex IPV," and this upcoming training will further delve into serving and working with the LGBTQIA+ community, specifically Trans and Non-Binary individuals, in a very intimate, conversational setting.

Lunch Options:

  • Roasted Chicken Sandwich with Chipotle Aioli, Lettuce, and Tomato on a Kaiser Bun
  • Shaved Turkey Sandwich with Cranberry Relish, Lettuce, Tomato, and Pickles on Wheat Bread
  • (Vegetarian) Caprese Sandwich with Local Tomatoes, Dallas Mozzarella, Fresh Basil and Texas Balsamic on Wheat Bread
  • (Vegan & Gluten-Free) Grilled Vegetable Salad with Boston Bibb Lettuce and Champagne Vinaigrette

Museum Access:

Participants will be provided free entrance to the Dallas Holocaust and Human Rights Museum on August 19th and are welcome to arrive early or stay late and walk through the museum before or after the training.

Parking & Transportation:  $8 (not included in registration cost)

Parking is available in the Museum’s parking garage on Houston Street directly across from the entrance to the Museum.

About Our Speaker:

Leslie McMurray was born and raised in Southern California.

She spent 33 years in the radio and television business before transitioning and taking on the role of Transgender Education and Advocacy Associate for Resource Center.

Over the past nine years, Leslie has conducted scores of trainings for a variety of entities…from Fortune 500 companies to the HR managers from the National Hockey League. She has trained medical students and law enforcement – even the EEOC!

Leslie has two beautiful and successful daughters and 5 gorgeous grandchildren.

Leslie lives in Coppell with her wife, Katie, and Border Collies “Breezy, Molly and Patches.”
