This training will offer mental health clinicians’ practical information on understanding and treating survivors of religious trauma. It will have three sections: Conceptualization & Assessment, High-Control Group Dynamics, and Treatment Considerations. The facilitator will utilize relevant research, assessment tools, case examples, and therapeutic interventions to ensure that attendees meet the three learning objectives listed below.

Learning Objectives:

  • Learn to assess and conceptualize the impact and symptoms of religious trauma.
  • Learn how high-control religious groups exert power and control over group members.
  • Learn practical treatment strategies for the treatment of religious trauma clients.

If you register for this training, you must attend for the entire training.

About Our Speaker:

Anna Clark-Miller, MA, LPC

Anna practices at Dallas Therapy Collective and specializes in Religious Trauma and LGBTQ+ identities. She is the co-founder of Empathy Paradigm, a consulting business that offers training on trauma-informed and DEI-conscious leadership. Anna has a background in crisis intervention and criminal justice and currently hosts a religious trauma podcast called Martyr, She Wrote.
