Female Survivors of Violence Conference

Up to 12 CEs Available and Over 30 Sessions Offered! Topics will include resiliency and self-care, sexual assault from the prosecutor's perspective, working with survivors of human trafficking, "In Her Shoes," post-traumatic growth, and so much more!

  • Courses Eligible for LPC, LMFT, SW and Psychologists Continuing Education Credit - NBCC Approved. (This training meets the requirements for professional development as outlined in the Texas board rules for LPC, LMFT, SW, and Psychologists, and Trauma Care Institute is an Approved Continuing Education Provider through NBCC.)
  • Courses Eligible for TCOLE (Texas Commission on Law Enforcement) Credit. (Hours will be reported by Plano Police Department)

Presented by Trauma Support Services' Trauma Care Institute alongside multiple presenters, experts, speakers from across the state of Texas.

Time: 8am - 5pm CDT (both days)

Location: Collin College - Spring Creek Campus, Plano, Texas

Cost: $35 (The educational components of this training are provided at no cost by Award No. 3012705 through the Texas Office of the Governor and the Violence Against Women Act Fund. This is a non-refundable fee that covers the additional costs for the conference, such as food and beverages, which are not supported by the grant.)

Keynote Speaker: Chelsea Davis from The Women's Center of Tarrant County

This conference will focus on trauma-informed work with female survivors of violence and crime, their families, and the resiliency of survivors as well as that of service providers. This conference seeks to provide seminars to inform and assist mental health professionals, law enforcement personnel, lawyers, advocates, and other criminal justice professionals, victim service providers and community leaders navigating their work with survivors through a trauma-informed, diverse, and empathic lens.

In addition, the conference will provide resources, insights, and tools to assist service providers in combatting burnout, vicarious trauma and compassion fatigue.
