This training provides a comprehensive exploration of dating violence experienced by Black women-identifying individuals. Participants will gain an understanding of the dynamics of abusive relationships, the unique challenges faced by marginalized populations, and trauma-informed strategies for supporting survivors. This session will emphasize fostering safety, resilience, and empowerment for those impacted by dating violence.
Learning Objectives:
Participants will gain an understanding of the dynamics of dating violence by recognizing the patterns and cycles of abuse within dating relationships and their impact on survivors' mental, emotional, and physical health.
Participants will examine intersectional challenges by exploring how intersecting identities (e.g., gender, race, socioeconomic status, and sexual orientation) influence experiences of dating violence and access to resources.
Participants will identify trauma-informed approaches through learning best practices for creating a supportive environment and offering services that validate the experiences of cisgender and transgender Black women.
Participants will promote survivor empowerment and recovery by developing strategies to foster resilience, agency, and long-term healing in Black women-identifying survivors of dating violence.
