It is estimated that close to 50% of individuals admitted to residential eating disorder treatment have endorsed at least one or more traumatic events in their life. Eating disorders have the second highest mortality rate of any psychiatric illness following opiate-influenced substance use disorder. Caregivers, loved ones, partners, and professionals may feel overwhelmed and helpless when attempting to support someone struggling with disordered eating. Learning how complex trauma and eating are connected plays an essential role in treatment and recovery. This training introduces key components when diagnosing and treating eating disorders.
Learning Objectives:
Identify eating disorder spectrum disorder behaviors in the context of trauma
Gain knowledge regarding eating disorder treatment skills through a trauma-informed framework
Incorporate at 1-2 recovery supports for those impacted by eating disorders
If you register for this training, you must attend for the entire training.
*Partial CEs will not be provided.*
Leaving the training early will count as a No Show.
