Dates & Times: Participants must attend both weeks, all 10 days, of training in their entirety.

- Standard - $1500.00 + transaction fee
- Non-Profits, Students, and Trauma Support Services Therapists - $1300.00 + transaction fee

*30% of your registration fee will go to Trauma Support Services to help support our mission and expand our services.*
Each training requires a minimum of 10 participants and no more than 20. If participant minimum is not met, registered attendees will be notified in advance, and Trauma Support Services and The Haven Wellness will reschedule training. Participant payments will be transferred to future training or reimbursed.Â
Description:
All training rates include 10 days of training and all 10 hours of consultation required to complete basic training. Completion of Basic Training requires attendance at all 10 days of training and the completion of all the consultation calls. Training will be held at the Genesis Women's Shelter Training Center in Dallas! *All attendees will need a caseload of clients to practice EMDR with between Weeks 1 and 2*

Minimum Requirements to take EMDRIA Approved EMDR Basic Training
Licensed Mental Health Professionals:
- Qualifying medical doctors must be licensed to practice in their state or province.
- Qualifying advanced practice registered nurses must have a Master of Science in Nursing (or higher) with a specialization in psychiatric mental health nursing and must be licensed to practice through their state board or province.
- Qualifying Mental Health Clinicians must have a master’s degree in the mental health field (Counseling, Marriage Family Therapy, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Psychiatry, Social Work) or related mental health discipline and be licensed to practice through their state board or province.
- Individuals who only hold a chemical dependency or substance abuse license are not eligible as these licenses generally do not allow for a mental health scope of practice.
Pre-Licensed Mental Health Professionals:
- These are clinicians who are actively pursuing a mental health license through their state board (or province) while working under a licensed supervisor. Some of these license types include associate, intern, limited, provisional, temporary and pre-license.
- Qualifying pre-licensed mental health clinicians must have a master's degree in the mental health field (Counseling, Marriage Family Therapy, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Psychiatry, Social Work) or related mental health discipline and must be actively pursuing a full license through their state board (or province) while working under a licensed supervisor.
- Individuals who only hold a chemical dependency or substance abuse license are not eligible as these licenses generally do not allow for a mental health scope of practice.
Graduate Students:
- Qualifying graduate students must be enrolled in a master’s or doctoral program in the mental health field (Counseling, Marriage Family Therapy, Psychology, Psychotherapy, Psychiatry, Psychiatric Nursing, Social Work) or related mental health discipline. Students must have completed their core graduate academic coursework and must be in the practicum/internship portion of their graduate program. First year graduate students are not eligible. Graduate students must be on a licensing track and working under the supervision of a fully licensed mental health clinician.
- Graduate students who would like to take an EMDR Training will need to submit certain documentation (graduate transcript, practicum or internship details, and a letter from their supervisor which includes the supervisor's license information and number) in order to verify their eligibility. Students do not need to provide EMDRIA with any documentation unless specifically asked to do so by EMDRIA staff. Any documentation that needs to be submitted would go directly to the training provider either prior to or during the training registration process.
About Our Speaker:
Kelly Slaven has spent her career dedicated to the well-being, support and empowerment of clients. Her passions as a therapist include providing evidence-based treatments for those who have been impacted by a history or single instance of trauma, providing insight and support for women experiencing abuse or control in their relationship with an intimate partner, and generally seeking to empower and embolden women to walk forward in their lives with full confidence and esteem.
Starting her work as a therapist at Genesis Women’s Shelter and Support and ultimately becoming the Director of Clinical & Professional Services there, Kelly spent 12 years working with women who were experiencing power and control from their partner, helping them to identify their strengths, process their trauma and determining the best path forward for them. Additionally, Kelly led a team of 20 therapists who collectively provided thousands of hours of therapy for the women and children of Dallas. Most recently, Kelly spent almost 6 years serving at the Dallas Children’s Advocacy Center (DCAC). As Chief Clinical Officer, Kelly supervised over 30 clinicians and students, supervising over 19,000 clinical hours, who provide treatment for the worst child abuse cases in the Dallas area.
Kelly has been trained in several modalities of treatment, most related to the treatment of traumatic experiences. Â Kelly is Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing (EMDR) Certified as well as an EMDR Consultant and an EMDR Trainer. Â Kelly is certified in Trauma Focused Cognitive Behavioral Treatment (TF-CBT). Kelly has also trained with Dr. Bruce Perry in his Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics (NMT), has been trained in Problematic Sexual Behavior Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (PSB-CBT), and has been trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy.
Kelly graduated from The University of Kansas with a Bachelor’s in English and California State University, Long Beach, with a Master’s in Social Work.
Jessica Brazeal, MA, LPC-S, EMDR Certified, is the Chief Programs Officer at New Friends New Life, an agency that serves trafficked and sexually exploited women and children. Jessica is a Licensed Professional Counselor – Supervisor, EMDR Certified, and an EMDR Approved Consultant. Previously, Jessica has served as the Director of Clinical & Professional Services at Genesis Women’s Shelter & Support and the Coordinator of Clinical Services of Restoration Ministries at Highland Park United Methodist Church. Jessica has provided therapeutic services to women and children victims of domestic violence, sex trafficking, and sexual exploitation for over 12 years.
Jessica has provided expert testimony in both criminal and civil courts in Texas as well as serving on the faculty of the Institute on Domestic Violence and Sexual Assault’s Expert Witness Training Program. Jessica has a background of speaking extensively in the community regarding the issue of domestic violence, sex trafficking, and trauma’s impact on the brain. Jessica is certified in Eye Movement Desensitization and Reprocessing, a therapy model used to treat the effects of trauma and PTSD. Jessica has also been trained in Dialectical Behavioral Therapy, Trauma Focused – Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and the Neurosequential Model of Therapeutics.
Jessica received a Bachelor’s degree from Texas A&M University and a Master’s degree from Dallas Theological Seminary.
Cancellation and Refund Policy: The general policy is that refunds will not be offered to participants. However, if a participant presents with extenuating circumstances, it will be at the discretion of The Haven Wellness and Trauma Support Services whether to offer a refund or a spot at the next available training.
