We are thrilled to offer a virtual In Her Shoes session through UTA Associate Professor Karla Arenas-Itotia at this year's conference!

The "In Her Shoes" series, created by the Washington State Coalition Against Domestic Violence (WSCADV), is designed for experiential learning about domestic violence. Participants move, act, think, and make choices as a person experiencing an abusive relationship. Participants are required to participate in a Domestic Violence Simulation ("In Her Shoes") and debriefing for continuing education credit.

Objectives:

  • Illustrate that domestic violence is a community problem, and not just a personal responsibility.

  • Show that we all have a role of embrace to end domestic violence

  • Encourage everyone to think creatively and act intentionally to assist victims and their children

This session requires the completion of 2 parts - the virtual online simulation through UTA & in person debriefing session at the Female Survivors of Violence Conference. Partial CEU credit for only completing the virtual simulation with not be offered.

Please note, the virtual component is hosted through UTA's course platform Canvas, not our Thinkific site. Once enrolled, you will receive an email that will provide easy access to the course page. Links are available in your confirmation email after signing up. In order to attend the debrief and receive full credit, you must provide us the certificate of completion you will receive upon finishing the virtual component by uploading to the Dropbox link provided or emailing training@tssnt.org.

When Registering, please ensure that ALL information, especially your email address, is accurate. If you do not receive a confirmation email from our team, please let us know.
