The ability to provide access to interpretation and translation for victims is an essential component in enhancing the safety of survivors and the community, as well as promoting perpetrator accountability. This training will inform participants about developing an interpretation and translation plan, working with interpreters, and budgeting for interpretation and translation services.  

 

Learning Objectives:  

  • Develop a plan to implement interpretation and translation services.  

  • Learn best practices for working with interpreters.  

  • Explore budgeting for interpretation and translation services. 


If you register for this training, you must attend for the entire training.

About Our Speaker:

Dr. Jose Juan Lara Jr. is a seasoned nonprofit leader and trainer with over two decades of experience in program management, technical assistance, and leadership development within the field of victim services. As Systems & Advocacy Senior Program Manager at the Asian Pacific Institute on Gender-Based Violence, he leads national initiatives that strengthen organizational capacity and multilingual access. His career includes senior roles at Esperanza United and the Texas Advocacy Project, as well as board service with the National Organization for Victim Assistance and the Texas Victim Services Association. Dr. Lara is known for his collaborative and trauma-informed leadership.
