This presentation offers insights into trauma survivors' experiences, exploring the complexities of how trauma affects the brain and strategies for supporting survivors. Gain understanding, practical tools, and access to resources for aiding clients with trauma. Whether you're a therapist, advocate, educator, or caregiver, this presentation equips you with practical strategies and empathetic approaches to better support and empower those on their journey of healing.

Learning Objectives:

Upon completion participants will

  • Understand the brain chemistry associated with trauma​
  • Be able to equip various ideas and considerations for working with trauma survivors​
  • Have more resources for supporting trauma survivors

About Our Speaker:

Tabatha Gunn is a Licensed Professional Counselor-Supervisor. She received her bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of North Texas in Denton, TX, and her master’s degree in counseling at Texas Wesleyan University in Fort Worth, TX. She is also EMDR trained and has been practicing therapy for 9 years. Much of her work has been with trauma survivors. Additionally, she has worked with the homeless population, domestic violence, and foster care. Many of her clients are survivors of sexual and physical abuse and assault, traumatic grief, and domestic violence.
