This session aims to foster a sense of empowerment to professionals who provide care and hope for women seeking to heal from the trauma of crime victimization. It will empower them to advocate for improved access to mental health services and additional resources specifically designed for female crime victims.

Learning Objectives:

  • Explain the impact of crime victimization on a woman's mental health (e.g., PTSD, depression, anxiety, substance abuse).
  • Develop culturally sensitive communication approaches to support women who have experienced crime.
  • Identify and utilize trauma-informed care principles when working with female crime victims.

If you register for this training, you must attend for the entire training.

About Our Speaker:

Manuela Aguilar is licensed professional counselor passionate about supporting  as they clients navigate the complexities of life and mental health. She believes in the power of therapy as a tool for transformation. Her therapeutic approach is CBT with a specialization is working with victims of crime as the Staff Therapist at Trauma Support Services.

Her experience includes working with clients facing a variety of concerns, such as anxiety and depression, relationship challenges, trauma and abuse, self-esteem, and providing group therapy services.
