Suicide has far-reaching impacts that extend beyond the individual, affecting families, communities, and the professionals who support them. This training introduces a comprehensive, trauma-sensitive approach to suicide care that spans the full continuum—awareness, prevention, intervention, and postvention.
Participants will explore how to recognize and respond to suicide risk using evidence-based strategies, while also gaining a clear understanding of key concepts such as mental health, mental illness, and suicide care. The session emphasizes the importance of language, helping attendees distinguish between safe and unsafe ways to talk about suicide in both clinical and community settings.
Grounded in a holistic and systemic framework, this training equips participants with practical tools to support individuals before, during, and after a crisis—while also addressing the broader impact suicide can have on others. Attendees will leave with increased confidence in their ability to engage in meaningful, informed, and compassionate suicide prevention and postvention efforts.
